Paste Paper Class

Taught a Paste Paper class at Paper Source in Berkeley on Wednesday night. I actually did some paper myself, whereas I usually just instruct and watch. I made a handful of 8.5 x 11 sheets and liked these pink ones. I was kind of in a woodgrain as plaid mood. They'd be great for collage or paper dolls! Also good for book binding and crafts!

Craftaluma Show in 2 Days!!!!

2 days until my first craft show. I hope Craftaluma is a success, as I have been working very hard in preparation! At the show I will be unveiling my miniature scenes, housed in glass cloche. Some hold paper shoes while others contain little creatures! I also have paste paper and gocco printed tea towels and a few other goodies. I am so excited!!!!

The bunting behind this fawn reads "hello little one."

New pair of miniature "Queen Bee" shoes.

Come visit me at the show!

Paste Paper

More Paste Paper

Paste Paper

Making Paste Paper for the upcoming Craftaluma show on June 29th. Am so excited to be able to produce work for a specific event; it helps push me forward. I love making paste paper, its like finger painting for adults. I teach this class at Paper Source in Berkeley and at the workshop space as well, but I was happy to get to make some one my own. It takes up lots of space, so its good to have room to spread out. I've been making paste paper since college, and have tried lots of various methods, but prefer using Methyl Cellulose for my medium. It helps the paint move smoothly for making patterns, and it prevents the pages from sticking to one another in an art application. Yea! I'm happy to be making things!
