Aria

Had the chance to pop into one of my favorite shops in SF, Aria. Among all the treasures I found and purchased some tiny vials of mounted micro shells from the 18th century. The owner, Bill travels to France several times a year to search out antique pieces and collections...
The space is truly amazing. From original anatomical posters, to antique miniature globes, Aria has something for the curious and creative.

The shop is open Tues- Sat 11-6 mostly... And if you get a chance there is a great bakery across that street that specializes in biscotti. Happy hunting !!!!

Happy Friday

Walked around the lake this morning. The water was so still. Saw this splash of color reflected on its glass like surface and thought it deserved a second look... Happy Friday!

Sadly, I found this on the internet and not on the sidewalk. It still strikes a chord.

Autumn is my favorite season. Some people mourn the loss of summer, the darkness that arrives too soon in the evenings, the chill that consumes a warm breeze. As a child I welcomed the return of school, anticipated the coming months colored by pumpkin orange, fiery reds, deepest purple and indigo blues.

For me, Fall is where golden afternoon light casts long blue shadows on the pavement, and the morning air holds the crisp shock of a new day. I love when chartreuse leaves turn to amber, scarlet and deep purple plum. If I could capture all that the season means to me, I would have a worn paper box full of bright white skies, honeyed light, fuzzy memories, smoky smells, damp earth and a song that slowed to the pace of the fading afternoon glow.
