A New Verb for the English Language

My boyfriend just posted this on my facebook:

Word definition
Cerruti (verb) current American English. Urban. To make something incredibly cool, and precious by hand, quickly. As in: "Look at that painting. It is amazing, and perhaps just as good as a Leonardo. Did you just cerruti that?"

Gelée de Thé - A Delightful Treat!

A new find! The rooibus tea called Bourbon (Thé Rouge Bourbon) by Mariage Freres is one of my favorites. This past weekend we discovered this delightful jam or gelée they make in the same flavor. Admittedly, this would be a very easy jam to make, just tea, pectin, sugar and lemon juice. But one of the indulgences of Mariage Freres is their dramatic packaging, noir et jaune vivant. Atop hot buttermilk biscuits, it was delicious!!!

Happy Birthday Alicia

Once upon a time I sat next to a girl on a bus in the middle of the French countryside. Little did she know only weeks later she'd be sitting in a bathtub full of mud in a field in Camus while I snapped pictures of her trembling frame... this is how I met Alicia...

Today is Alicia's birthday and I think back to our year in France, the many photo shoots we did, the hundreds of pots of tea we drank and innumerable bars of chocolate consumed all in the name of a French sejour. Joyeux Anniversaire!!!
