Inspiration in Color, Pattern & Print

A brighter bit of inspiration from two of my favorite books and designers...
Tricia Guild of Designer's Guild in the UK and Sibella Court of Society Inc in Australia.

Eye candy for those who love bold patterns, saturated color and a bit of sophisticated whimsy.

One of my favorite books to look through on a rainy day with a cup of Earl Grey...

Nathalie Lete and Anthro

Okay, this is so amazing I just stole it from Design Sponge! How come I work at Anthro and don't know about this!!!!

...i was so excited to hear that nathalie would be painting the windows at the anthro store on 5th avenue. in honor of her new dress collection at anthro nathalie is transforming all of the windows into a “marvelous garden” with flowers, birds, and insects. (taken from Design Sponge)

I can only imagine how stunning these widows will be... to think how fleeting...
I'd love to be there to see it in person!

Spring Window is UP!

Excuse the poor pics form my phone. I will be posting better images this week!

Hundreds of reused plastic water and soda bottles became this spring sphere of flowers!!!!
The Atrium features this sphere, which is 92" wide and two others, one 72" wide and a baby one about 48" wide. All the flowers are strung on thread running floor to ceiling. I used over 2000 yards of thread!

The Holidays are wrapping up and I am focusing on Spring at work. I came across this picture of a pair of winter wonderland paper shoes from last year. I think they are a good last image of this holiday season. I look forward to all the potential adventures of the coming year!

The Holidays are here at Anthropologie! Paper poofs tumble overhead. Look closely; I am in there somewhere!

Funnels holding handmade ornaments sprout from wood stumps...

Little lamps on birch trees light the way for customers...

snowballs for sale, 5 cents each...

How many inches of snow this year? And a Holiday window to come....

Bright Star

Anthro just launched a new website called the anthropologist where they have film clips, images and writings from people who inspire...

Listed is the new film from Jane Campion, Bright Star. I found this clip on imdb that is just beautiful and magical.

Fall Window at Anthro

The new Fall window is up and is all about local travel...

The map on the window surface is actually of Berkeley!

I layered in details of things I like to do in the Bay Area. Of course, all of these details have some reference to my favorite eateries!

Tildie, the larger ostrich is almost complete...

Also started this hanging light fixture. Most of the bulbs are decorative, but I am adding some tomorrow that will be illuminated.

A Busy Week...

So I've hinted at my new job and I wanted to share my first window and display for Anthropologie with you. I am the Display Coordinator at the 4th Street store in Berkeley and am enjoying it immensely!!!   I just finished the window installation this week and I think it turned out beautifully! If you are in the East Bay come check out the store; the installation moves throughout the exterior and interior space and is fun to see in person. The text in the picture above it hand cut paper in the style of Rob Ryan and was the first bit of display I did for the store last week. I'm having so much fun in the new position!
