Blueberry Scones

Did a bit of baking tonight. These blueberry scones from Breakfast, Lunch, Tea turned out beautifully and they are delicious! The blueberries I bought weren't the sweetest, so I made a maple butter to go with. So far, there hasn't been a single disappointment from this book; I highly recommend it!!!!

Gelée de Thé - A Delightful Treat!

A new find! The rooibus tea called Bourbon (Thé Rouge Bourbon) by Mariage Freres is one of my favorites. This past weekend we discovered this delightful jam or gelée they make in the same flavor. Admittedly, this would be a very easy jam to make, just tea, pectin, sugar and lemon juice. But one of the indulgences of Mariage Freres is their dramatic packaging, noir et jaune vivant. Atop hot buttermilk biscuits, it was delicious!!!

A Lovely Birthday

28 today! My day was full of treats, finds and sunshine... oh and Bergamot Cotton Candy from Miette...
les macarons from Paulette's...
ribbons from the Ribbonerie...

...and other lovely finds!

The afternoon ended with tea at Crown & Crumpet.

A Good Morning, Rain or Shine

Woke up early to grey skies and a want for good food and a walk in the drizzle...
We wound up at Bouchon Bakery for pistachio citrus brioche and financiers.

A walk down the street lead us to Bistro Jeanty which was great for a picture but shhh...
I don't actually like traditional French food, so we wandered on...

These beautiful lettuces sprouting deep burgundy and citron green drew us into the French Laundry's Gardens...

We took pictures of our morning vacation...

And ended our sejour at Dean & Deluca for a tin of Kusmi tea to enjoy at home.

A Day in the City

Had a day off with Aaron and we decided to spend the whole day walking around in San Francisco. Any trip to Sf requires a stop by Miette, our favorite sweet shop for some chocolate and les macarons.

We also tried out the new Crown & Crumpet teashop in Ghiradeli square. It was fabulous! Just the right mixture of old time British charm with pink polka dot sass. They have over 35 different teas to choose from and a delightful lunch and cocktail menu too!
